The Delta Optimist is pleased to announce it is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. It was March 23rd, 1922 that the first edition of the Delta Optimist newspaper was published.
Celebrations will commence with a partnership with the Delta Heritage Society and the Delta Archives to present 100 years of images and stories. This special feature will be anchored to the Editorial Page (page 8) in print every week for the whole year.
Throughout the rest of the year, The Delta Optimist will be presenting other stories, images and memories in print and on the website to mark their 100th anniversary. This look back at the history of the Optimist will culminate in a special commemorative section that will be published in September.
Lastly, the Optimist would like to thank the community, past, present and future, for the support and loyal readership that has been at the core of the Optimist for the past 100 years.
